Some new sketches!

This is a piece from a few months ago that I noticed that Fantasy Flight Games is using for the packaging for the latest Call of Cthulhu set it's it, which is pretty cool! Also below are some new sketches from the latest Dr Sketchy's Philly session, which had a Las Vegas showgirls theme.

The cool thing about having an art blog is the ability to easily post some new art just for fun and not have to worry about it being a "portfolio piece". It gives me the opportunity to showcase stuff like sketches and post entire series' of work that otherwise wouldn't go on my website(www.johnmoriartyart.com, by the way!)

I have a blog!

I've finally entered the land of the bloggers! Welcome, you've entered the realm of fantasy and scifi artist John Moriarty! I'll try to get on here and showcase new art as much as possible(usually depending on NDA's!). 

This is my entry for an ArtOrder contest called "Drow vs. Mindflayer", run by Jon Schindehette over at Wizards of the Coast! I usually don't do contests, as it's free work, but this is a great opportunity to get my art in front of some big-name art directors and editors. I had a lot of fun with it, too!
